Overview
On Thursday 10 November the IWFM People Management SIG is hosting a unique opportunity for employers and students by bringing together a host of facilities management businesses (providers, clients, recruitment, professional bodies) and students (schools and universities) to discuss apprenticeship and graduate placements in the facilities management space.
For anyone in facilities management who has or knows any students who would jump at the chance to present themselves to the companies at this event and discuss what could be available to them, this is an opportunity not to be missed! This event will also provide insight into career change opportunities for those already in facilities management or looking at FM as a career.
Crucially, at a time when facilities management has a shortage of talent joining the industry and a wealth of knowledge leaving the industry through retirement, this would be the ideal meeting place to talk to different companies and explore the scope of roles that FM has to offer.
During the afternoon we will hear from guest speakers including:
- the winner of the 2022 Newcomer of the Year IWFM Impact Award, Anthony Atkinson
- Ross Penzer, Senior Technical and Project Manager for Nike at Mace, who will speak about his career starting out as an apprentice
- Jonathan Nobbs, IWFM speaking about the importance of skills and qualifications.
We will also be running CV writing workshops with Claudio Rojas to help students understand how a well-crafted CV can get you noticed and how to write one.
This is the first time we have run such an event and the very strong interest from our participating companies who are keen to speak to students about actual opportunities, shows that events such as this (almost a job fair) are much needed.
We already have committed numbers from schools and university, so please book quickly to guarantee your place.
