Rising FMs Network chair, IWFM

Overview

We are a community of IWFM members who are passionate about inspiring and motivating individuals to choose workplace and facilities management as their career of choice.

We do this by:

  • engaging with schools, colleges and universities to showcase exciting career opportunities
  • demonstrating how being part of the profession provides opportunities to contribute to the biggest challenges facing our world
  • celebrating and nurturing the young people that choose to make the workplace and facilities management profession their home.

IWFM Networks focus on members who share common characteristics, such as gender or career entry routes. They enable us to understand and act upon the barriers that may exist when entering and progressing within the profession, and to make visible the opportunities available. The volunteers within the Networks will not only support the career development of a particular member cohort, but also play an ambassadorial role, providing challenge and insights on specific issues, and supporting public policy agendas where IWFM may need to respond.

Assurity Consulting

Assurity Consulting is the UK’s leading independent accredited consultancy specialising in workplace health, safety, and environmental solutions. We were inaugural members of the IWFM (then the BIFM) and have supported the institution since it began in 1993. Our customers reap the benefit of our more than 38 years’ experience of delivering our services across a range of different sectors – helping them manage their compliance responsibilities as effectively as possible.

Our technical expertise and award-winning customer service have led customers from the UK and internationally to choose us as their trusted partner to help them manage their workplace compliance. As an independent consultancy, with no remedial products or services to promote, our impartial advice makes sure that compliance management budgets are used to best effect. Our in-depth technical expertise is a quality that really sets us apart. Our team includes certified specialists in disciplines including occupational safety and health (NEBOSH, OSHCR), access audits (NRAC), asbestos (P402), plus experts in areas such as asbestos, environment, fire, food safety, health and safety, Legionella, noise and indoor environment quality (air, water, comfort), making us the preferred compliance management partner of so many organisations.

Our customers can rest assured that we are audited to British and International Standards for our processes and procedures. We hold ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 for the provision of auditing and consultancy services for the built environment. We are also certificated to ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety management best practice. We also have specific Primary Authority relationships with two leading local authorities.

To give our customers the added security they need, our company is accredited by UKAS to ISO 17025 for the sampling and analysis of air and water samples in our own laboratory. We are also accredited as an inspection body by UKAS to ISO 17020 for our Legionella risk assessments to BS 8580 standard. We are recognised by BAFE, for being fully compliant with the requirements of SP205, a life safety fire risk assessment scheme, that provides independent evidence of our competency to deliver fire risk assessments.

Our consultants – all direct employees – guide our customers through our findings and provide all the help, advice and information they need, giving reassurance that they are in control of their compliance.
