Is this course for you?
This course is suitable for every professional, whatever your level. You will become your organisation's go-to Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) advisor.
This course won’t teach you to be a therapist, but it will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis – and even potentially stop a crisis from happening.
What will you learn?
As a trained Mental Health First Aider, you’ll be given the confidence and knowledge to:
- recognise warning signs of mental ill health
- empower someone to access the right support
- better tackle the stigma around mental health
- support someone while keeping yourself safe
The course helps to increase awareness and understanding of some of the most common mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, eating disorders, self-harm, suicide and psychosis.
How long is it for?
Study time is equivalent to 14 CPD hours.
This is a two-day course, licensed by MHFA England and taught by an approved instructor.
Learning takes place across four manageable sessions. Through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions, each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan.
You will receive a certificate at the end of the course.
