Associate (AWIFM) grade is the perfect way to start your professional grade membership journey. You are eligible for this grade if you meet the criteria of one of our two routes:
- Route A: At least two years' workplace and / or facilities experience
- Route B: A facilities or related qualification at Level 2 or above and at least one years' workplace and / or facilities experience
Membership fees:
- Assessment (a one off payment when you first join or upgrade): £49
- Associate member fee: £224

Knowledge and competencies
Applicants must demonstrate their knowledge, skills and experience of the following competencies within your supporting documentation.
Property and Building Services Maintenance: Keeping the building safe and usable and understand how to develop and monitor maintenance programmes.
Support Services Operations: How to identify the requirements of users, and understand the options for providing the services, as well as how operational activities link to support services strategy.
Risk Management: The principles and application of risk assessments and how they are integral to best business practice.
Health and Safety: Understanding Health and Safety in the workplace and the role and responsibilities in monitoring and reviewing safety systems
Customer Service: Understanding services culture and customer relationships, as well as the development of customer led cultures

Supporting materials
To be assessed for Associate membership, you are required to supply a copy of your CV (if you need help with your CV please use our template as a guide). You must also complete an AIWFM declaration form and, if applicable, submit an original or certified copy of your qualification certificate.
