Certified level membership

Is it for you?

There are three routes you can take to join at Certified (CIWFM) grade.

For Route A, you must have the following:

• At least three years' workplace and / or facilities experience
• At least two years' managerial experience
• An IWFM Diploma at Level 6 or above

For Route B, you must have the following:

• At least three years' workplace and / or facilities experience
• At least two years' managerial experience
• A facilities management or related qualification at Level 6 or above (which is comparable in size to a Diploma) OR Chartered status of a relevant professional body

For The Experiential Route to Certified (CIWFM), you must have the following:

• Hold a senior or strategic role in workplace or facilities management.
• Be responsible for planning and implementing significant strategic or operational changes.
• Lead complex tasks and oversee the work of others, exercising broad autonomy and judgement.
• Be able to provide examples from your work experience that demonstrates competency across the IWFM Professional Standards

This route is ideal for professionals ready to be recognised for their expertise who have not had the opportunity to study for academic qualifications.

Supporting materials

To be assessed for Certified grade via Route B, with your application, you must supply the following:

• Your CV
• Your most recent job description
• CIWFM Declaration form
• An original or certified copy of your qualification certificate (if applicable)
