2025 IWFM Impact Awards: celebrating leadership excellence from all backgrounds

As Chair of IWFM's Strategic Leaders Forum (SLF), I've witnessed the transformative power of strong leadership in the workplace and facilities management (WFM) sector. True leadership extends beyond management, encompassing a compelling vision, empathy, adaptability, resilience and unwavering integrity. 

The SLF itself embodies these principles, leveraging diverse perspectives to address the challenges and opportunities facing our industry. We understand that strong leadership isn't monolithic; it thrives on diversity, benefiting from varied backgrounds and experiences. 

That's why recognising and celebrating leaders from all walks of life is paramount, particularly those from underrepresented groups. The 2025 IWFM Impact Awards' Leader of the Year category specifically aims to highlight individuals making a significant positive impact. An empowered and inclusive WFM sector requires inclusive leadership. 

This year, I urge leaders to self-nominate or nominate individuals breaking barriers and challenging the status quo. This category, as with other People categories, is free to enter. Entries close at midday on Monday 24 April; the Awards ceremony will be held on Thursday 9 October at London’s JW Marriott Grosvenor House.  

Let's ensure the Leader of the Year award reflects the richness of WFM by recognising diversity. This is a powerful opportunity to acknowledge their hard work and inspire others to contribute to a more equitable and representative WFM community.
