The deadline to apply for the Deborah Rowland Scholarship has been extended to 14 September 2024.

The Scholarship, a collaboration between IWFM and Deborah Rowland, was founded after Rowland was diagnosed with advanced cancer. With substantial experience in high-level roles, most recently with Sodexo UK, Deborah is passionate about ensuring that WFM’s future is populated with ambitious and invigorating talent. The Scholarship aims to break down the barriers for those wanting to gain a career in workplace and facilities management (WFM).

Two recipients of this award will receive no-cost IWFM mentoring and training to fast track them through the sector. The Scholarship will fund an IWFM regulated qualification at an appropriate level (2, 3 or 4) via IWFM Direct for 12 to 24 months and includes monthly mentoring sessions with experienced professionals. It is backed by the IWFM Charitable Foundation and senior leaders in the profession who want to help others to succeed.

The Scholarship is for individuals who are passionate and motivated to get on in WFM but can’t move forward due to financial circumstances. IWFM calls on its members and WFM professionals to spread the word to benefit prospective applicants.

Rowland said, “We have extended the deadline of our Scholarship until 14 September to ensure that we can reach as many applicants as possible. There has never been a better time to be a part of WFM, with constant innovations in sustainability and technology, and we believe this initiative can help find and nurture the next generation of talent.”
