Employers in England looking to hire apprentices can now take advantage of financial incentives of up to £2,000 for each new apprentice under the age of 25 hired until 31 March 2021.
Employers who wish to apply for incentive payments for apprenticeship starting up to 31 March 2021 (where eligible to do so) will need to accept the latest Apprenticeship Agreement for Employers through their apprenticeship service account.
Full details of how to recruit apprentices and potential funding available to employers can be found here, while information - including employer incentives and costs - on the range of Government-backed training and employment schemes including apprenticeships, traineeships, Kickstart and work placements can be found here.
While the document provides a useful overview, is does not clarify the process for the government payments. It’s important to bear in mind that some schemes will only share payment in three-monthly arrears which means that whilst they are free, other considerations, including cash-flow, will need to be taken into account.
IWFM has consistently advocated the opportunities that apprenticeships can offer in creating pathways into the workplace and FM profession: to read more click here.
