Hurry, there’s less than two weeks to apply for the Deborah Rowland Scholarship. The scholarship, launched by IWFM and Deborah Rowland, Director of Public Affairs at Sodexo UK and Ireland, closes on Saturday 14 September 2024.

The scholarship was established by Rowland following her diagnosis with advanced cancer and she collaborated with IWFM to boost the scheme’s impact. Having reached the heights of workplace and facilities management (WFM) success, Rowland aims to nurture the next generation of talent that will shape the sector’s future.

The scholarship is designed to remove obstacles for individuals aspiring to build a career in WFM; this ranges from school leavers and graduates to workers moving from another sector, and others. All it requires is a commitment to a WFM career, to demonstrate a strong work ethic capable of completing the training and indicate their financial inability to pursue development opportunities through other means.

The selected recipients will be announced at the IWFM Impact Awards ceremony on 14 October, at London’s JW Marriott Grosvenor House hotel. They will work towards the achievement of an internationally recognised regulated qualification, participate in the mentoring programme and submit quarterly reports to gauge progress.

If you, or someone you know, sounds like they are applicable for the scholarship then we encourage you to take part, or simply to spread the word. So far, IWFM and Rowland have been delighted by the quality and quantity of applicants, indicating that the scholarship will enhance both emerging talent and the sector. Click here to find out more.
