On Wednesday 8 May, World FM Day takes place with the theme 'Inspire, Integrate, Innovate: Ignite your career in FM'. This a prime opportunity for workplace and facilities management (WFM) professionals to receive recognition for their hard work over the year, plus underline the sector’s importance to organisations across the board. We invite the community to come together, network and learn from each other’s experiences.
Speaking to Global FM ahead of World FM Day 2024, John Carrillo CFM, IFMA Fellow and Chairman of Global FM, said, “World FM Day is the opportunity to recognise the behind-the-scenes heroes that keep our workplace safe and productive, while providing for a healthy environment. We also acknowledge the opportunities that FM provides for careers and ongoing professional FM Development.”
Commenting on World FM Day 2024, IWFM CEO Linda Hausmanis said, “It’s vital to acknowledge and appreciate the hard work that WFM professionals put in daily to create the best outcomes for organisations, people and planet. The theme 'Inspire, Integrate, Innovate’ chimes with IWFM’s mission to educate, inform and advocate for WFM.
“We’ve recently highlighted the importance of upskilling and reskilling for professionals and organisations, in terms of career development, tackling the skills shortage, boosting recruitment and retention, staying ahead of industry changes and building stronger organisations.
“On World FM Day 2024 I encourage our community to engage to raise the profile of this exciting profession – how can each and everyone of us ‘inspire the next generation of facilities managers’, ‘integrate our knowledge and experience to attract the next generation of facilities managers’ and finally ‘innovate so that we can demonstrate the impact WFM has on an organisation’s performance and the wider economy.”
