14 April 2025
From Monday 14 April, IWFM is on the lookout for two experienced and commercially astute individuals to join the Board as Non-Executive Directors (NEDs). This opportunity, part of our commitment to leadership development, allows individuals to shape the future of workplace and facilities management (WFM) and amplify the voice of IWFM members.
Eligible members (Certified grade or above, held for at least 6 months) can self-nominate via our online platform. IWFM encourages diverse applications and seeks candidates with WFM sector knowledge, strategic thinking, commercial competence and senior leadership experience. Benefits include networking, fresh Board-level experience, updated industry knowledge and access to new opportunities.
Mark Whittaker, Chair of IWFM, said, ‘I highly recommend applying to become an NED. NEDs play a key role in ensuring that IWFM always delivers maximum value for all members, influencing the initiatives and strategies which make a meaningful impact on our profession. The work NEDs undertake is engaging, motivating and flexible to the person’s schedule and responsibilities. Not only will you drive positive change, but you’ll also expand your network and meet a diverse range of strategic leaders. Take a few minutes out of your day to apply, you won’t regret it.’
While unremunerated, the roles carry the same responsibilities as Executive Directors. Self-nomination, seconded by two members of Member grade or above, is required. Corporate and Group member main contacts can second an applicant but cannot stand as an NED unless they hold their own individual membership at Certified grade or above.
Key dates include nomination opening (14 April), closing (9 May), election (23 June - 18 July) and the AGM announcement (24 July). Eligible candidates have been emailed with a link to self-nominate, make sure to check your spam folder also.
