Findings from the third and final phase of the IWFM Sustainability Survey 2022 reveal that more than one in five (21%) of end user organisations do not invest in wellbeing for their physical workplace, which could harm their productivity, talent retention, and more. While the majority of end users and service providers said that their organisations/clients give high significance to wellbeing, both answered that the main barriers to developing wellbeing were quantifying the cost versus benefit of initiatives (32% of end users, 42% of service providers) and a lack of clear targets and strategy (30% of end users, 41% of service providers).

Elsewhere in the findings, 90% of service providers have seen an increase in clients’ wellbeing activity in the past 12 months, which could be linked to the 99% of all respondents to the IWFM Sustainability Survey 2021 who said the COVID-19 pandemic had resulted in an increased focus on health and wellbeing.
