Join the IWFM South Region for our latest webinar with the University of Surrey and University of Nottingham, focusing on advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion for neurodiverse individuals in higher education.

In this webinar, we’ll explore why nearly 20% of the UK population, identified as neurodivergent, many do not have this status recognised as a protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010.

We will discuss and look at how those in Higher Education institutions can improve their hiring and built environment processes to create a more positive experience for neurodivergent individuals joining Estates services teams. The presentation will outline the steps taken towards achieving greater inclusion

Brendan Sexton

Estates Design and Construction Programme Lead, University of Nottingham

Brendan has worked in the construction industry for 20 years, working in Ireland, Australia and the UK. He is a qualified Architect, with design experience in large scale residential, archival, research and Higher Education Sectors ranging in values from £2m to £80m. For the last 5 years Brendan has works for the University of Nottingham on a variety of new build and refurbishment projects. He is currently the programme leader for major future projects. 

He has an active interest in how people's cognitive function is affected by the built environment, Brendan is leading the project for AUDE to release guidance to the HE sector in 2024 on the subject
