Overview
IWFM Women in FM invite you to join them in the beautiful, listed and newly refurbished Council House, right in the heart of Birmingham's city centre for an engaging conference where we address this year’s International Women's Day theme of #Breakingthebias
You will hear from speakers from different backgrounds who will share their knowledge and experience to help you break the bias as we encourage women to raise the bar and progress within the workplace and facilities management sector and be confident in their abilities and the value they bring plus lots of great networking opportunities.
-
Fiona Morden will run a session to help you understand what you can do to evoke change in your organisation and practical ideas to put into place and will also talk about unconscious bias and what we can do to affect change in our immediate circle.
-
Award-winning entrepreneur Pamela Aculey from Just Like Me Books will share the importance of understanding differences and sowing the seed at an early age and will give a demo on their AR books aimed at children with various conditions.
-
Fiona Bowman will share her story and campaign around domestic violence and what we can do to identify the signs in our colleagues and how we can support them.
-
You’ll hear from trailblazers from various businesses on what makes a great environment for equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and sharing examples of best practice featuring members from the EDI Focus Group.
-
Plus Louisa Clarke, MD at Churchill Group will share her FM Journey.
We shall be releasing the programme shortly and you will be asked to pre-order your food to reduce waste and risk to prevent cross contamination as we approach our conference with a view to delivering a great experience with awesome content in a safe environment.
Our venue is a huge space and we'll be seated banqueting style to increase your comfort and networking opportunities.
We shall be asking for a £10 charity donation for your ticket which will be split equally between Women's Aid to help domestic violence victims and our IWFM Chair’s charity, Mind. We also ask you to inform us if you are not able to join us please as our events always sell out and have a waiting list and this will enable us to re-allocate your ticket.
**The Birmingham Council House is in the heart of the City Centre and 300m from New Street Station, which has access to the rest of the country. Local car parks are available nearby, postcodes will be provided for these at a later date. **
